Shopify teams up with Google, thus enabling merchants to sell their products through Shopify’s Google Shopping app for free.

The feature is already accessible for US merchants, whereas global rollout is anticipated for the end of 2020.

According to the statement, the products listed in the Google Shopping tab, have the chance to be discovered by shoppers without having to pay for clicks.

Despite this feature doesn’t replace Shopping ads, the introduction of free listings gives small businesses more opportunities. That’s about the access to a popular online shopping destination in case they don’t have enough resources to effectively run and scale their own Google Ads campaigns.

As to the merchants who are already using Shopping ads, that’s an additional way to supplement their paid advertising with free listings.

We’ve reported that eBay and Shopify announced a partnership. This way, Shopify retailers in Germany can launch and sell their products directly on eBay from their Shopify account. It gives them benefits from the major reach the online marketplace has across Germany and abroad.
