Money20/20 Europe is the highest-scoring payments event for 2026 in PaySpace Magazine’s benchmark, followed by MPE – Merchant Payments Ecosystem and Money20/20 USA.

For years, PaySpace Magazine Global team has been an active participant in different formats of fintech events. With this extensive experience, we decided to do something new this year: creating a benchmark evaluation of the fintech conferences and summits that can serve as a shortcut guide for every industry executive and startup team. The events will be evaluated in a series of articles, with payments topic pioneering our benchmark ratings.
How We Scored It
PaySpace Magazine Global ranked the payment-focused events using a weighted scorecard with predefined criteria. Each event was rated 1–5 across ten factors, including how senior the audience actually is, whether the networking is structured or just an open show floor, how specialized the content is to payments versus broad fintech, ticket cost relative to what you get, regulatory relevance, and deal-making potential. Where PaySpace team attended in person, our subjective firsthand impressions also counted toward the score.
Not every factor carries equal weight. Audience seniority, networking quality, and payments specialization matter most to someone planning their travel and networking budget, so they’re weighted highest. Raw attendee numbers count, but are not at the top of the scoring card, since a bigger show isn’t automatically a better one.
The result is a 0-100 score per event, which is what powers the ranking. For payment professionals, this could be a consistent, transparent way to compare very different events (e.g. a 10,000-person flagship conference versus a 100-person invite-only summit) on the same terms, rather than just evaluating them by size or ticket cost.
The Ranking at a Glance
Below is our 2026 benchmark comparison of the leading payments events that have either already taken place this year or are still to come at the moment of writing.

Event-by-Event Breakdown
Besides the total score, one should get to know precise details and peculiarities of the payment events on every fintech executive’s agenda.
Money20/20 Europe — 2-4 June 2026, Amsterdam, Netherlands
This flagship industry event has drawn roughly 7,600 attendees from 100+ countries and 2,000+ companies this year. Tickets run €1,500-€5,000. The premium pricing here reflects genuine access to payment-related business opportunities: a senior audience, structured matchmaking, and programming built specifically around payments rather than broad fintech. Regulatory relevance is high, given the density of MiCA and PSD3-focused sessions. So is the event and agenda quality. Over the last decade, Money20/20 has earned trust and affection from the fintech community for a good reason.
Verdict: The benchmark’s top-scoring event and the closest thing to a mandatory stop on the European payments calendar.
Next event date: 8-10 June 2027
MPE – Merchant Payments Ecosystem — 17-19 March 2026, Berlin, Germany
One of (if not the) longest-running fintech events in Europe, MPE attracts 1,600+ attendees, including 500+ merchants and brands. A flat €3,750 + VAT fee positions it as a premium, curated gathering rather than a mass-market show. The conference might have a smaller room (1,000–3,000 tier) of participants, but one with a tightly merchant-specific agenda. Deal-making infrastructure and regulatory relevance both score at the top of the scale.
Verdict: Smaller and for some categories pricier than the Money20/20 franchise, but arguably the sharpest merchant-payments-specific event in Europe.
Next event date: 9-11 March 2027
Money20/20 USA — 18-21 October 2026, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
The largest event in the Money20/20 set, with 11,000+ attendees and 3,400+ senior attendees gathering in the US this year. Tickets span $1,545-$5,995. It’s the only event in the benchmark to clear the 8,000+ scale tier. At the same time, the mass scale does not dilute the networking opportunities here, as matching deal-making and networking infrastructure was built for that volume.
Verdict: The scale leader of the benchmark, built for volume as much as depth.
Money20/20 Asia — 21-23 April 2026, Bangkok, Thailand
Asian edition has drawn 4,500+ attendees, growing by 40% in its third year. Tickets range between $299–$3,999, the widest and most accessible spread of any Money20/20 edition. It scores strongly on audience seniority, regulatory relevance, and payments specialization, with deal-making infrastructure and regional maturity still catching up to the European and US editions.
Verdict: A genuinely flagship-tier APAC event, priced for broader access than its European and US siblings.
Next event date: 27-29 April 2027
Airline & Travel Payments Summit — 19-20 May 2026, Dublin, Ireland
ATPS is a tightly focused gathering of 400+ delegates from a narrow travel payments segment. Tickets run $299–$1,499. The hosted-buyer format for travel payments specifically scores strongly on content depth and deal-making, though scale is capped by its niche delegate count. At the same time, Airline & Travel Payments Summit does not exist in isolation. This year, it was combined with Airline Information’s Mega Event as well as Loyalty Security Alliance (LSA) Spring Event. So, the joint summits brought together professionals in loyalty marketing and ancillary revenue along with payments and fraud experts.
Verdict: Small by design, but one of the highest-value niche events in the set for travel-payments specialists.
Baltic Payment Forum — 2-3 March 2026, Vilnius, Lithuania
One of the smaller but strongly-focused European fintech gatherings, Baltic Payment Forum brings together 300+ C-level executives and payment leaders to discuss latest industry trends and meet 1:1 in a structured format. Tickets are €150–€450 + VAT, among the lowest-cost entries in the benchmark. Low cost combined with high seniority and direct access to a dialogue with regulators and central banks drives excellent cost-efficiency scoring, offset only by its modest attendance scale.
Verdict: A low-cost, high-seniority regional gathering that punches well above its ticket price.
Next event date: 24-25 February 2027
Payments Leaders’ Summit – EU — 30 September-1 October 2026, Amsterdam, Netherlands
The event gathers 100+ Europe-based executives; invite-only, with pricing undisclosed. Scale is deliberately capped. This is a boutique, hosted-buyer executive format, not a mass-attendance show. Due to its exclusivity, audience seniority, networking structure, and deal-making all score at the top of the scale.
Verdict: Small on paper but built entirely around executive access, which is exactly the point.
Smarter Payments Summit — 10 September 2026, London, United Kingdom
Access to the Smarter Payments event is complimentary for qualified senior buyers, with supplier pricing undisclosed — an excellent cost-efficiency setup for the right attendee profile. Content is strongly infrastructure-focused, though deal-making and regional-regulatory depth trail the top tier.
Verdict: A specialist, buyer-focused event whose value is hard to benchmark publicly but strong for the right audience.
PLUS-Forum — 19-20 May 2026, Tashkent, Uzbekistan
Draws 2,600+ attendees. Pricing is not publicly disclosed. Strong across audience seniority, regulatory and market-entry relevance, and payments specialization. PLUS-Forum content depth and scale sit a notch below the top-tier events. At the same time, it is one of the few payment events that focus specifically on the fintech landscape of Central Asia that undergoes rapid digital transformation.
Verdict: The leading regional payments forum for Central Asian market entry.
Next event date: 27 May 2027
Payments Leaders’ Summit – UK — 28-29 April 2026 (Spring) & 20-21 October 2026 (Autumn), London, United Kingdom
Brings together 100+ UK-based executives per edition, twice a year. Invite-only, with pricing undisclosed. Like its EU counterpart, scale is capped by design in favor of a small, senior, hosted-buyer format. Regulatory relevance and track record trail slightly given the UK-only remit and shorter running history relative to the EU edition. Nevertheless, due to its highly interactive environment, Payments Leaders’ Summit offers practical collaboration results rather than purely theoretical knowledge.
Verdict: A reliable, twice-yearly UK executive gathering, providing networking and insights into one of the world’s most mature and innovative payments ecosystems.
Balkan Payment Forum — 14 May 2026, Tirana, Albania
Attracts 300+ delegates. Tickets are €200 + VAT. Strong on seniority, specialization, and cost-efficiency. Regulatory relevance is the softest score, reflecting the region’s earlier-stage compliance landscape relative to Baltic or EU peers. The event scores a bit lower than its peers also for the absence of a track record. However, the novelty of the Balkan Payment platform does infringe on its quality, as the organizing tema has a long history of regional fintech summits behind it.
Verdict: An emerging regional forum with clear upside as Balkan payments regulation matures.
Next event date: 25 May 2027
ATPS B2B London — 24-25 February 2026, London, United Kingdom
Draws 100+ delegates. Pricing details are not available at the moment, so we used an APAC-based benchmark ($249–$799) rather than a confirmed London figure for the reference. Airline & Travel Payments B2B Summit 2026 happens in a compact hosted-buyer format with strong deal-making orientation, offset only by the smallest scale tier in the benchmark and narrow niche orientation.
Verdict: A small, deal-focused B2B event highly useful for the payment industry specialists focusing on the airline and travel segment.
World Aviation Festival — 13-15 October 2026, Lisbon, Portugal
Draws 4,500+ attendees. Tickets are €3,495. This event is the lowest-scoring one in the set not due to its low quality or absence of senior decision-makers, but rather due to its exact relevance for the payments focus. World Aviation Festival has a broad aviation-industry scale and reach, but payments is an adjacent theme rather than the core focus there, and it has the shortest payments-specific track record of the group. Nevertheless, the event might be a good starting point for those wanting to make connections with aviation executives to continue payment conversations in followup meetings.
Verdict: A large aviation event with limited, adjacent relevance to a payments-focused editorial calendar.
