Mastercard and BVNK Launch Global Money Platform for Fiat and Stablecoins

Mastercard and BVNK have announced the launch of the Mastercard Global Money Platform. A unified infrastructure combines Mastercard’s global payments capabilities with BVNK’s stablecoin technology through a single API.

Mastercard and BVNK Launch Global Money Platform for Fiat and Stablecoins

This is the first major integration of the two companies since Mastercard completed its acquisition of BVNK in August 2026 (a deal valued at up to $1.8 billion).

The platform allows banks, fintechs and enterprises to embed multi-currency accounts (fiat plus stablecoins), real-time conversion, stablecoin-linked cards and local bank payouts via Mastercard Move into their products under their own brand. Companies can start with the features they need and add more over time, without having to stitch together separate integrations from multiple providers.

At the core of the platform is a global money account. Fiat currencies and stablecoins sit side by side, with conversion between them handled through a single API. Fintechs and technology platforms can embed these accounts into their services, giving customers one place to hold, convert and pay out funds.

Through Mastercard Move, users can send stablecoin balances as local-currency payments directly into recipients’ bank accounts. The service currently reaches well over 17 billion endpoints. By 2027 the companies plan to expand coverage to more than 40 currencies across over 200 countries and territories. Platform clients will also be able to spend stablecoin balances across Mastercard’s global acceptance network of hundreds of millions of merchant locations, with card issuance available in more than 130 countries.

Among the first companies to integrate the Global Money Platform are payment provider Nuvei, card-issuing platform Marqeta, and Ontop, Bolt Group / Beem and Almond FinTech. The platform supports more than 20 blockchain networks (including Stellar, Arc, Monad, Plasma and Tempo) and several stablecoins, among them USDC and OUSD.

“The future of global commerce depends on money moving as freely as the businesses and consumers it serves, across borders, currencies, and increasingly, between traditional and digital forms of money,” said Phil Fayer, Chair and CEO of Nuvei. “Stablecoins are becoming an increasingly important part of that future, and our collaboration with Mastercard and BVNK will help us bring these capabilities to more businesses.”

“With Global Money Platform, we’re delivering on our promise to connect BVNK’s technology with the scale and trust of Mastercard,” said Chris Harmse, co-founder and chief business officer at BVNK. “Global Money Platform will become the single infrastructure layer not just for stablecoins, but for every form of money. It will mean that enterprise customers like Nuvei, Ontop Beem and Almond Fintech can build global financial products at scale, without having to build the underlying infrastructure together themselves.”

Raj Dhamodharan, Executive Vice President of Blockchain and Digital Assets at Mastercard, added:

“We believe the future of commerce will be built on interoperability across multiple forms of money. Global Money Platform brings together Mastercard’s trusted payment infrastructure and reach with BVNK’s stablecoin capabilities, giving businesses a single foundation to move value across traditional and digital ecosystems. This is an important step in bringing our multi-money strategy to life and enabling the next generation of programmable and agentic commerce.”

The platform is available now through BVNK. Looking ahead, it is designed to support agentic commerce and additional regulated forms of money, including tokenized deposits. With this launch, Mastercard and BVNK are positioning the infrastructure so that businesses can work with any form of money — fiat, stablecoins and future digital assets — through a single integration.
