Robinhood Crypto Brings Crypto Transfers to Europe

Crypto transfers were one of the most requested features by Robinhood customers in Europe.

Robinhood Crypto Brings Crypto Transfers to Europe

Robinhood Crypto has launched a crypto transfer feature that enables customers to deposit and withdraw more than 20 cryptocurrencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and USD Coin (USDC), for its customers residing in European countries.

“With the launch of crypto transfers in Europe, we’re making self-custody and entering DeFi simpler and more accessible for our customers. Support for deposits and withdrawals gives customers more control over their crypto, while ensuring they have the same safe, low-cost, and reliable experience they expect from Robinhood.”

Johann Kerbrat, VP and GM of Robinhood Crypto

To enable crypto transfers, customers should verify their identity and add two-factor authentication to their accounts. Robinhood users must also note that not all coins available for trading on the Robinhood crypto investment platform can be transferred between customer accounts.

Cryptocurrency services in the region are offered for eligible EU customers through an account with Robinhood Europe “RHEC”. It is registered according to the regulatory requirements of the Republic of Lithuania as a virtual currency exchange and virtual currency depository wallet operator.

Robinhood has intended to expand its offers for trading crypto assets in Europe since late 2023 after a successful similar experience in the UK. Given the complexity of cryptocurrency regulations across Europe, the firm adopted a phased strategy for the rollout of its crypto services. It allowed the company to comply with various regulatory requirements across different jurisdictions before expanding further.
