Visa Inc. announced the expansion of its Agentic Ready program to clients in Asia Pacific and Latin America. The program was first launched with banks and issuing partners in Europe, including the United Kingdom. It focuses on preparation for agent-led commerce.

AI agents can perform tasks such as searching, making decisions, and completing payments on behalf of consumers and businesses. This may affect how transactions are authorised and how security and control are managed.
What Visa Agentic Ready Provides
Visa Agentic Ready is a program for issuing banks and payment partners. It allows participants to:
- Test agent-initiated payments in controlled environments using live cards and merchants
- Validate payment processes such as card enrolment, tokenisation, authentication, and transaction authorisation
- Assess trust, security, and control mechanisms
- Identify operational and readiness gaps
- Work with Visa and selected merchants to observe how agent-initiated transactions function
- Prepare for broader deployment of agent-led transactions
The program is part of Visa Intelligent Commerce. This is a set of initiatives related to AI-driven commerce. In the United States, Visa Intelligent Commerce is already in use with agents and partners. Some transactions are already taking place.

The program was initially active with more than 20 partners in the United Kingdom and Europe. It is now expected to expand to more than 85 partners in Asia Pacific and Latin America. Further expansion to other markets is planned for this year.
