Klarna announced the beginning of cooperation with OpenAI.
The result of this partnership will be the appearance of a new use case for ChatGPT. The chatbot will become a personal shopping assistant.
The built-in Klarna plugin for ChatGPT will provide users with the opportunity to request advice on making purchases and receive recommendations related to specific products. The chatbot will provide links to sites where you can get acquainted with products that are of interest to the consumer. This is stated in the press release of Klarna, which was published last Thursday, March 23.
Klarna co-founder and CEO Sebastian Semyatkovsky stated that he is delighted with the experience of interacting with the ChatGPT plugin. The head of the company notes that this technological solution can cope with many problems and is easy to use.
Consumers will install the plugin, request shopping ideas from ChatGPT, receive product recommendations, and send additional requests to the chatbot for more detailed product data, if necessary. Customers can then click on a link that will take them to the product page in the Klarna search and comparison tool.
Initially, the plugin will be available to ChatGPT Plus subscribers in the United States and Canada. Over time, access will be granted to residents of other countries, but when exactly this will happen, has not yet been reported.
Sebastian Siemiatkowski says that Klarna is in a unique position to use the best technology and data to help people discover new products and solve consumer problems at every stage of shopping.
OpenAI introduced ChatGPT about four months ago. Many believe that the presentation of this product has become a starting point in the irreversible change of the world from a technological point of view. The chatbot interface is intuitive to understand, the language model is constantly updated, and the artificial intelligence is being trained on an ongoing basis. These circumstances mean that ChatGPT has an ever-improving ability to communicate and a constantly replenished knowledge base.
The news about the new plugin appeared about a week after OpenAI and Stripe, a company developing solutions for electronic payments, announced the start of a partnership. The chatbot developer will use the partner’s financial infrastructure platform to monetize their products. A company developing solutions for electronic payments will introduce generative artificial intelligence technology into its products and services.
