OpenAI describes the upcoming ChatGPT Business offering as a product for professionals who need a greater degree of control over their data, and for enterprises seeking to manage end users.

The company’s blog, published last Tuesday, April 25, states that the new offer will follow the company’s API data usage policy. This means that the personal information of end consumers will not be used to train generative artificial intelligence models. The company also said that the new offer will be available to users in the coming months, but did not specify a specific date.

OpenAI previously reported on exploring the possibility of introducing additional paid subscriptions for its chatbot. The first level of paid subscription was launched in February, in this case, the cost is $ 20 per month.

In January of this year, two months after the launch of the AI-based chatbot, the number of active ChatGPT users reached 100 million people. This indicator makes the OpenAI product the fastest-growing consumer application in history.

As part of the study of new sources of income, ChatGPT plugins were launched in March, which expanded the functionality of the bot by providing access to third-party knowledge sources and databases, including the Internet.

Against the background of broad public discussions and the practice of prohibitions of a local nature, a chatbot is a successful product from a marketing point of view. ChatGPT attracts media attention and is the subject of discussion in social networks, including the hero of various memes.

Sam Altman, co-founder, and CEO of OpenAI, says that the operating costs of a chatbot are amazing and amount to a few cents per chat in total computing costs.

Also on April 25, a new ChatGPT feature was announced. The functionality was expanded as a result of the addition of the option to disable chat history. Conversations with history disabled will not be used to train or upgrade AI models. Also, the talk report in the corresponding mode will not be displayed on the sidebar. At the same time, OpenAI informs that the content of the conversations will be stored for 30 days and reviewed if necessary, related to the control of abuse.

ChatGPT data can also be exported from now on. Users can request that their personal information be sent as a file to the email address associated with their OpenAI account.

The expansion of the chatbot functionality is taking place against the background of increased attention to this AI-based product from regulators and the practice of restrictive measures that have already begun. The Italian authorities in March imposed a ban on the use of ChatGPT, explaining their decision by possible violations of privacy standards and the fact that the company illegally processed customer data and did not implement a system to restrict access to minors.

France, Spain, and Germany have also launched checks on OpenAI and its commercial services. Particular attention is paid to compliance with GDPR ChatGPT.
