iFX EXPO International 2026: Cyprus Gathering for Global Trading and Fintech Overview

iFX EXPO International returned to Limassol from 16 to 19 June 2026, bringing together the online trading, fintech, payments, and financial services community for one of the sector’s largest annual gatherings. This year’s edition drew more than 6,500 attendees and over 200 exhibitors to City of Dreams Mediterranean, continuing the event’s decade-long role as a meeting point for brokers, technology providers, liquidity firms, payment processors, and regulators.

An eventful week built around more than an exhibition

While the exhibition and conference programme ran across two days, 17–18 June, the whole surrounding week was structured as a series of linked events rather than a single show. It began with the inaugural iFX Hack 2026, a 24-hour Trading & Fintech Hackathon powered by Amazon Web Services, held at the University of Limassol on 13–14 June. Open to developers, students, and fintech professionals with no entry fee, the hackathon capped participation at 50 people working across three challenge tracks: AI and Intelligent Trading, Financial Security and Fraud Prevention, and User Experience and Financial Innovation. Three teams emerged from those tracks, namely, Team Trade Mirror, Team Grongo, and Team UCY Finter, with the overall winner announced live during the main event on 18 June.

From there, the calendar moved into a beachfront Welcome Party at Columbia Beach on 16 June, complete with a drone show over the Mediterranean coastline, before the exhibition floor opened at City of Dreams Mediterranean. The week also included invitation-only Roundtables at Anais Restaurant, the UF Awards recognising industry excellence, an official Night Party sponsored by SBG, and a closing Match-Prime Liquidity Padel Experience on 19 June. Together, these elements reflect how iFX EXPO 2026 has now positioned itself less as a short trade show and more as a week-long industry circuit.

Exhibitors and speakers spanning the ecosystem

More than 200 exhibitors took part, spanning trading platforms, liquidity providers, payment infrastructure, and RegTech. Participants included CloudTrader4, B2BROKER, Solid Payments, ecommbx, Blockmaze, Panda Trading Systems, XBO.com, Plus500, Mobi, Syphonix, Zota, Equiti, Rapyd, Match-Prime Liquidity, and MetaQuotes, and many, many more firms among others, giving attending brokerages a broad shortlist of vetted partners to evaluate on the floor.

The conference programme ran across two stages, Speaker Hall and Mastery Hub, with sessions addressing regulation, market structure, liquidity, payments, digital assets, artificial intelligence, trading technology, and business growth. The opening keynote came from Dr. George Theocharides, Chairman of the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission, who addressed the evolving regulatory landscape shaping financial markets across the European Union — a session that carried particular weight given Cyprus’s growing role in EU policy discussions.

Beyond the CySEC keynote, the speaker line-up drew senior figures from Google, TikTok, Oracle, Microsoft, Visa, Kraken Cyprus, Crypto.com, TradingView, Markets.com, Capital.com, payabl., Nuvei, NAGA, Finvasia, FundedNext, and Your Bourse, alongside Michalis Persianis, Chairman of the Fiscal Council of Cyprus. Session topics ranged from a Microsoft masterclass on AI implementation to a Visa presentation on the future of Click to Pay and digital checkout, reflecting the breadth of the agenda across traditional finance, payments, and emerging technology.

Opening day draws strong turnout

Day One of the exhibition, 18 June, attracted thousands of attendees for a full schedule of networking, product demonstrations, and conference content. Alongside the CySEC keynote, the day featured discussions on the global economic outlook, tokenization and digital asset infrastructure, AI adoption, payments innovation, and customer acquisition strategy. It also marked the announcement of the iFX Hack 2026 overall winner, closing the loop on the hackathon that opened event week. The evening carried into the invitation-only roundtables, the UF Awards, and the SBG-sponsored Night Party, underlining how the day mixed formal programming with sustained networking.

Stablecoins move from theory to operations

One of the more substantive threads to emerge from the conference floor concerned stablecoins. According to analysis contributed to PaySpace Magazine by Tyler Betts of Overchain, the conversations at iFX Cyprus marked a shift away from theoretical interest toward operational questions, such as how firms manage liquidity across chains, monitor risk in real time, and reconcile transactions continuously rather than through end-of-day batch processes.

Panellists reportedly pointed to faster settlement as a double-edged benefit. Real-time payments increasingly demand real-time compliance. However, visibility into wallet activity, sanctions exposure, and reporting is something that legacy infrastructure was not built to support. Discussions also touched on transaction provenance and wallet screening as emerging priorities for institutional stablecoin adoption, alongside a broader move from reactive monitoring toward predictive risk systems. The throughline, per Betts, is that stablecoin adoption is no longer in question, yet the defining challenge now is infrastructure.

Why brokers keep attending iFX Expo

iFX EXPO continuously draws in thousands of industry professionals to discuss practical brokerage terms, i.e., rising liquidity costs, tightening regulatory pressure across jurisdictions, and increasingly competitive client acquisition. The event makes it valuable for brokerages, whether trading, crypto, prop, or bullion firms, since they can access liquidity providers, technology vendors, and affiliate networks in one place over two days. Conference sessions such as “Fiat vs Stablecoins vs Bitcoin” and “When Crypto Platforms Trade Wall Street,” for example, brought participants practical market intelligence that would otherwise take weeks to gather independently, while structured networking lounges and hosted meetings served as a more natural setting for building longer-term partnerships.

Looking ahead

iFX EXPO International 2026 concluded its main programming on 19 June with the closing Padel Experience, following two full exhibition days and a week of connected events. Taken together, the hackathon, exhibition, conference stages, and evening functions reinforce iFX EXPO’s position as a full-week fixture on the global trading and fintech calendar — one where regulatory dialogue, technology showcases, and deal-making increasingly happen side by side.
