Innovators and professionals from Europe and the Eastern Partnership countries passionate about emerging technologies can now apply to Deeptech GigaHack 2026, the largest deeptech hackathon in the Republic of Moldova. For the first time, this year’s edition offers 20 fully funded spots for international participants, who will travel to Chișinău to take part in the event.

The fourth edition of Deeptech GigaHack will take place from September 25-27, 2026, as an onsite event in Chișinău. For the first time, participants from around the world will also be able to join the hackathon online, expanding opportunities for international collaboration among innovators from Europe, the Eastern Partnership countries and beyond.
Deeptech GigaHack is organized by Technovator, an organization contributing to the development of Moldova’s innovation and technology ecosystem through education and acceleration programs, as well as events dedicated to the tech community.

Deeptech GigaHack is a 48-hour innovation sprint where researchers, engineers, software developers, entrepreneurs, students and designers work in teams to develop solutions to real-world challenges proposed by companies and public institutions.
This year’s edition will feature challenges in AI and Machine Learning, HealthTech, Cybersecurity, EnergyTech, AgriFood and GovTech. Orange Systems, Medpark International Hospital, Orbility, SOC.md, AC Tech, Biomentorhub x Profi, Chișinău City Hall and eGov are among the organizations that have already confirmed challenges for participants.
20 fully funded spots for international participants
The 20 international participants selected to attend the event onsite in Chișinău will receive fully funded round-trip flights, accommodation and meals, as well as access to mentors, networking opportunities and prizes. Those who are not selected for onsite participation will still be able to join the competition online free of charge.
The call is open to researchers, engineers, startup founders, software developers, Master’s and PhD students, and professionals interested in emerging technologies. Applicants can apply individually or as part of a team, while individual applicants will receive support in forming teams before the event.
Applications are open until September 8, 2026, and participants selected for onsite participation in Chișinău will be notified by September 11.
