At the Singapore FinTech Festival 2025, SUNRATE, a global payment and treasury management platform, released a new white paper co-developed with FXC Intelligence, titled “AI and Stablecoins’ Transformation of the Global B2B Payments Experience.” The report explores how artificial intelligence (AI), stablecoins, and blockchain are accelerating the evolution of global business payments and treasury operations.

According to FXC Intelligence data, the B2B cross-border payments market is expected to reach USD 47.8 trillion by 2032, growing at a 5.3% CAGR, with services accounting for nearly 27% of total transaction flows. The study notes that while 2024 marked the height of speculation around AI in payments, 2025 has seen increasing interest in stablecoin applications for settlement and liquidity management, particularly in high-friction emerging markets.
The white paper identifies three major trends shaping the sector:
-
AI enters the performance phase: Treasury and risk teams are already reporting productivity gains of two- to three-fold through automation and AI agents that consolidate real-time data and streamline decision-making.
-
Stablecoin adoption remains uneven but promising: In emerging markets, stablecoins are increasingly being used to facilitate faster, lower-cost cross-border transactions, complementing existing fiat rails that can already offer near-instant settlement in G10 corridors.
-
Blockchain beyond currency: Distributed-ledger applications — from on-chain KYC to tokenised bank deposits and blockchain reconciliation — could reduce end-of-month discrepancies and improve auditability across global finance operations.
SUNRATE Co-Founder and CEO Paul Meng noted that the company aims to bridge traditional and decentralised technologies under a regulated framework to support a unified payments infrastructure. Daniel Webber, Founder and CEO of FXC Intelligence, added that AI, blockchain, and stablecoins represent “some of the few technologies likely to have lasting structural impact on cross-border payments.”
The report’s findings align with broader industry data. Cross-border B2B transactions are expected to grow at 13% annually, mainly driven not only by globalization but also by new payment rails like stablecoins, increasing speed, transparency, and cost-effectiveness. Meanwhile, AI-related transactions accounted for 36% of all VC activity in fintech deals in H1 2025, with significant investment in AI-driven payment automation and agentic payment protocols, evidencing the strong market focus on AI for B2B payments.
SUNRATE currently supports operations in 190+ countries and regions, offering APIs and payment capabilities through partnerships with leading global banks and card networks. The white paper outlines the company’s ongoing investment in AI-driven payments infrastructure and its vision for an integrated global finance stack combining traditional and digital rails.
